Expanded Ready Ship Shelter Line Offers More Choices

In time to meet peak demand season, Duo-Gard is expanding its line of popular Ready Ship shelters introduced last year. Available in one week to answer the need for bus shelters, smoking shelters and other special purposes, the Ready Ship solutions are constructed completely in-house by Duo-Gard.

“To allow more choices, rather than build and stock entire shelters, we’ve set up a program of stocking an inventory of parts to ensure we have all the components ready to produce and ship shelters in one week,” says Michael Arvidson, executive vice president. “This will enable us to meet the need for shelters on demand.”

Previously, all the shelters were three-sided. Now customers can add a full or partial front wall. Current styles and sizes include barrel vault roof 5’x10’ and 6’x12’ or flat pan roof 5’x10’ and 6’x12’. Framing is dark bronze anodized aluminum; wall glazing is ¼” tempered glass. The barrel vault roof is shatterproof bronze multiwall polycarbonate, allowing diffused light transmission. The flat pan roof is bronze anodized aluminum. Shelters feature a dark bronze anodized aluminum slat bench and backrest.

An expanded range of sizes will be available in early 2019.

Each shelter is engineered to meet wind and snow loads required by its location. Arvidson adds that stamped drawings are available for a fee, with shelter lead time of two to three weeks.

“This time of year, many of our customers need shelters on short notice,” says Arvidson. “With our new stocking program, we can make sure they get what they need in their specific timeframe.”
