| After the scope of work has been defined, material selection complete and the budget approved, it’s time for the team at Duo-Gard to Activate the vision. Activate is the final phase of Duo-Gard’s proprietary approach to project development—Achieve 360°. The first two phases are Attain and Align. Activate is where the detailed engineering drawings, fabrication and installation occur.
“Activate is a powerful part of the Duo-Gard value proposition. We are unique in that we partner with clients through the entire project from design concepts through to installation,” explains Dave Miller, President of Duo-Gard. “This is the phase of the project during which Duo-Gard ensures we honor the budget we established in Alignment,” he added. Forty years of experience in translucency technologies makes Duo-Gard the ideal partner for architects and GCs. “We manage the entire process, which means fewer change orders, contracts to sign, invoices to process and teams to manage for the GC,” notes Miller. For designers, the benefit is a partner who can shepherd through the original concept—taking into account glazing technologies and structural components to optimize material selection without sacrificing aesthetics. With structural engineers on staff, Duo-Gard can provide a full set of sealed drawings and perform the engineering calculations for our projects. “We have delivered sealed drawings for projects in all 50 states,” says Miller. Fabrication takes place in one of Duo-Gard’s facilities in Michigan, under the careful eye of the project manager who works closely with the installation team.
